Indonesia Fashion Week marked its fifth year in 2016. The theme itself is “Reflection of Culture”. It’s an event which all fashion enthusiasts do not want to miss. I myself had attended and watched the shows since 2012, and participated as an exhibitor last year. However, this year I decided to come and enjoy the shows.
On the first day, I got an invitation from Mba Lyra Virna to D’Element show in which she presented her “Desert Rose” collection. The show was opened by Oki Setiana Dewi Bridal, then continued by Ummi Pipik Uje, Meccanism by Zaskia Mecca, and Lyra Virna Syar’i as the closing. In my opinion, it was overall an entertaining show because there were so many actresses and public figures walking in the runway as the muses of each designers. There were also kids walking on the runway and they were cute 🙂
On the second day, I attended HIJUP “Ethnocentrism” fashion show by three designers : Ria Miranda, Zaskia Sungkar, and Vivi Zubedi. Ria Miranda presented “Takana” collection, Zaskia Sungkar with her “Hitam Poetih” monochromatic looks, and Vivi Zubedi with more handmade embroidery and ethnic details named her collection “Sulaym Voyage”.
Each designers presented their own styles with a touch of ethnic, Ria Miranda and Zaskia Sungkar through their printed fabrics, while Vivi Zubedi emphasized on the details of embroidery.
This is my first article about fashion week, hope you’ll like it! 🙂
See you on the next post!
